Westport Meeting Newsletter, Nov 19 2022

Westport Meeting News:

Reminder: Monthly Meeting for Business will be held, via Zoom only, Sunday, Nov 20 at 8 AM. The Zoom link is in the Meeting’s weekly email.

Notice: While the Grange across from the meetinghouse makes repairs to its faulty well, leaving the building without water, the Saturday evening AA meeting, which usually meets at the Grange each Saturday evening 6-8 PM, will  be holding their meetings in our Community House until the Grange water issue is fixed. (This is in addition to their usual Sunday night meetings in our Community House.

NOTICE: Please be advised that the Community House Hall will be closed for annual floor maintenance Dec 26-31. Friends will still have access to the Potter House and kitchen via rear doors, but not the front door that week. This is necessary to allow time for the floor refinishing to dry thoroughly.

Approved previous minutes of Monthly Meeting for Business may be read HERE.

Closing:

In Praise of Hands

Blessed be the works of your hands,
O Holy One.

Blessed be these hands that have touched life.
Blessed be these hands that have nurtured creativity.
Blessed be this hands that have held pain.
Blessed be these hands that have embraced with passion.
Blessed be these hands that have tended gardens.
Blessed be these hands that have closed in anger.
Blessed be these hands that have planted new seeds.
Blessed be these hands that have harvested ripe fields.
Blessed be these hands that have washed, mopped, scrubbed.
Blessed be these hands that have become knotty with age.
Blessed are these hands that are wrinkled and scared from doing justice.
Blessed are these hands that have reached out and been received.
Blessed be these hands that hold the promise of the future.
Belled be the works of your hands,
O Holy One.
