At Westport Meeting, we strive to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and inclusive of families and children. Children are encouraged to attend Meeting for Worship with their families for the first twenty minutes, with the understanding that silence is a learned skill and may take different forms. As a community, we welcome children to join us in worship and are warmed by their presence and offerings (however bumpy or spontaneous). At the signal of their teachers, children leave meeting and head for the community house where they participate in our First Day School Program.
The Religious Education Committee of Westport Monthly Meeting has oversight of the First Day School Program for the young people of Westport Monthly Meeting. We are committed to providing a First Day School program for all ages. Over the years we have created various structures of programming to accommodate the individual needs of our children and families.
