Westport Meeting Newsletter, March 26, 2021

Hello Friends,

Property Committee is hoping, weather permitting, to remove the meetinghouse storm windows, hopefully next weekend, April 3. If you can help, please let Kevin know.

As Friends are aware, Ministry and Counsel is in the early stages of formulating our State of Society for the previous year as a Meeting. Several weeks ago we were encouraged to reflect in writing  how we feel our spiritual community faired during a very difficult and challenging year amidst the Covid-19 epidemic. New England Yearly Meeting has put together a helpful resource to help members of monthly meetings approach this year’s SOS, especially in this year of the pandemic. Friends can review this resource HERE.

Please send your reflections via email to Randal With, or by US Mail to Westport Friends Meeting, 938 Main Road, Westport, c/o Randal Wirth, co-clerk, Ministry and Counsel Committee. Thank you!

Gretchen’s JYM-JHYM latest bi-weekly newsletter, containing programming and retreat info for young people, parents and Friends, can be read HERE.

A child’s concept of worship

Midweek worship will continue to be offered each week on Wednesdays at 3:30 PM. Please note that the link for midweek worship is not the same as our regular worship on Sunday. A link for joining Midweek worship (which is the same link each week) will be emailed each week on Wednesday mornings. To insure security, we never post Zoom links on websites or portals visible to the general public.

Please use the Zoom link that was emailed to you to attend SUNDAY worship at 10 AM

10:00 AM – Worship via Zoom and in the meetinghouse: (Zoom links were emailed to you!)

Worship within the meetinghouse and worship online via Zoom will take place each week at 10 AM. Video and audio will be in use within the meetinghouse using Zoom, so that Friends worshipping online and in the meetinghouse can remain connected throughout worship. Buddy Baker-Smith will provide oversight of setup and care of worship in the meetinghouse this week.

Continue worshipping online: (Zoom links were emailed to you!)

Please plan to connect by 9:50 AM in order to settle into worship by 10 AM. If you have questions or experience difficulty connecting to Zoom please contact Gretchen Baker-Smith via email or cell phone at 508-287-6441.
